About Us:

The PebbleCreek Italian American Club provides an opportunity for any and all community residents to learn about Italian traditions, history and customs.

Many Italian traditions and customs are learned and experienced through planned social activities and functions throughout the year. Highlighted by our annual “must attend event, the Poinsettia Ball held in early December. Our monthly meetings consist of a short business meeting followed by an “After Social” where members get together for the purpose of visiting with each other and, at the same time, enjoying some wine, dessert and coffee in a relaxed environment.

Events:

The PCIAC Events and Communications Committees proudly announce these calendar events for our coming year. The events are made public on a rolling 90-day basis to help with your calendar planning. The goal is to make these events fun, and at the same time, create interest and increase participation from our General Membership.

Grab your partner! Dressed up as cowboys and cowgirls all had a great time. Do-si-do and Allemande were just two of the moves square dance caller Griff taught us at our January 8th meeting, resulting in partners having a grand time in squares of four couples. Meeting also included desserts thanks to Mary Ann Fusco, Susan Sands, and their committee, decorations courtesy of Kay Skripka, Teri Schoephoester and Sally Ward, wine courtesy of realtor Donna Strand, poured by Joe Witherup and Steve Fafoglia and 50-50 raffle by Vic Leo and Keith Martino ...  Yee-hah! ... The Italian American Club’s Poinsettia Ball is a sell-out premiere event in Pebble Creek and this year’s was over the top. Ladies and gentlemen in black tie and cocktail-formal attire were treated to delicious food both in the Chianti room for appetizers, and the ballroom for a served dinner of surf and turf, accompanied with trimmings. Dancing ensued with surprise visits from Elvis, Neil Diamond, Aretha Franklin! Shelly Carnevale and her committee outdid themselves this year! It’s a super beginning to the Christmas season. October Italian American Club Membership Meeting

… Ooooh, I’m scared”!

Happy Halloween! Ken Minichiello greeted everyone, with over 90 in attendance, dressed in his prison stripes in the Chianti Room. Looming around were “The Grim Reaper”, aka Ron Olberding who won best male costume and Teri Schoephoerster , aka the Evil Queen from Snow White who won best female costume … Beware her nails!

Other culprits included Pharoah, Queen of the Nile, cowboys, soldiers, vampires, witches, and even the Garrett's where she was the surgeon and he wore one of those hospital gowns that don’t close up properly in the back, you know what we mean! Names are redacted to protect the innocent ... More ... Photos

September 11th Membership Meeting was a Tribute to American Strength

Our meetings begin with the reciting of the pledge of allegiance, yet the pledge at our September 11th meeting was even more solemn, in front of a lowered Flag in honor of the over 3000 perished individuals in the terrorist attack at three locations in our country on September 11, 2001. Vice President Bob Marchese, with the support of Webmaster David Carnevale, gave a heartfelt presentation spotlighting the destruction and the memorial in New York City, and all had a moment of silent reflection and personal prayer for the victims. They will not be forgotten. More  ... Photos

The Rock n Roll Wii Bowling Tournament and BBQ Dinner was a Winner!

On August 8, 30 members of the PebbleCreek Italian American Club gathered in the Chianti Room for the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Wii Bowling Night.  There was no shortage of poodle skirts and vintage bowling shirts.  Teams competed for the top spot with First Place team, Rockin Daddys, coming in with the highest score. Catherine Sirota won highest women’s score, and hubby, Gary Sirota won highest men’s score.

The Chianti Room was transformed into a 50’s bowling alley/diner complete with snacks on the tables, 50’s rock ‘n’ roll tunes in the background, and the sounds of falling pins and cheering teams rebounding off the walls.   As attendees waited for the BBQ buffet dinner, we all participated in a fun game of Bowling Trivia. Did you know the term for 6 consecutive strikes is called a “Wild Turkey”?   There may not have been many “Wild Turkey” scores, but everyone certainly had a “wild” time.   A big thank you to Ellie Kovach and Carolyn Minichiello for such a fun time.

The Gala Committee

A Gala at Gatsby's was Grand!

It was an evening of sequins, fringe and pearls; striped vests, fedoras, and cigars as almost 90 members and guests of the Italian American Club sashayed into the Tuscany Falls Ballroom on April 6th to party the night away at our “Gala at Gatsby’s”. Party revelers really got into the spirit as divas, molls, and flappers could be seen on the arms of politicians, bootleggers, movie moguls, or gangsters.  We were whisked back in time to the roaring 20’s and dirty 30’s in style and would have fit right in at any Gatsby  extravaganza.
